Moroccan Oranges with Cinnamon

This healthy and beautiful dish couldn’t be any easier to prepare, and it’s tasty to boot!. With only three ingredients kids can easily prepare this dish without much fuss, and learn a little something about Moroccan culture while they’re at it.

INGREDIENTS

  • oranges
  • ground cinnamon
  • powdered sugar (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Slice or divide an orange and arrange on a plate or serving dish. Squeeze a little fresh orange juice on top of the slices, then sprinkle with ground cinnamon and powdered sugar.

Jamaa el Fna market square, Marrakesh, Morocco is a famous public square and market place in Marrakesh’s medina quarter.

Jamaa el Fna

This magical public square and market is one of my favorite places in the world because it is such a diverse and beautiful crossroads of world culture. Tourists and locals alike congregate in this incredibly lively site in Marrakesh’s historic medina quarter to shop, trade, dine and conduct whatever business they may be engaged in. The sights and sounds couldn’t be any more diverse, and I could honestly sit for hours just people watching from one of the restaurants on the edge of the square. I ate escargot (snails) for the first time here, was offered a camel to buy, and I nearly choked to death on a cloud of curry when a container was tipped over. It doesn’t get any better than that!
